This is a unique opportunity to rethink how local government can best meet your future needs and aspirations in Staffordshire. Local Government Reorganisation gives us the opportunity to innovate and create effective, high-quality public services for the people of Southern and Mid Staffordshire.
If you want more information on Local Government Reorganisation please visit your council website.
Your feedback will help us shape a new plan for how local government works in Staffordshire. Over the autumn, we’ll use what you tell us to build a clearer picture and prepare a final proposal to share with the Government later this year.
Although many of us use council services daily, we might not often think about how local government is organised – and that’s perfectly okay! Whether you’re an expert on local government or just learning about it, we want to hear from everyone.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Lichfield District Council has secured £120,261 from the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), administered by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), to support the growth and diversification of rural businesses across the district.
This capital funding is now open for Expressions of Interest, enabling micro and small rural enterprises to apply for grants ranging from £5,000 to £30,000. Successful applicants must provide at least 30% match funding and complete all spending by 31 March 2026.
The funding aims to support small-scale investment projects that develop new products, services, or facilities with a wider economic benefit to the local community. Work to reinforce Branston Bridge, so it can open to traffic, remains on track to complete next month.
Over the last few weeks, crews excavated the road on the southern part of the bridge and poured in two layers of concrete to create the strengthening saddle.
They also worked with utility services to safely remove an old disused cast iron pipe from the bridge.
The team additionally trimmed back some of the bramble growth to clear the path during the school half-term holiday.
As you can see in the above picture, particular care is being taken to install a support system for the high-pressure water main running through the bridge.
The next couple of weeks will see the highways team continue to excavate the final part of the bridge so that the last strip of the concrete saddle can be created.
The bridge remains on track to reopen on 10 July.
